Geneva-area man accused of firing gun in house

A wrestling match led to a domestic dispute that resulted in gun charges Sunday evening in an unincorporated area near Geneva.

Kane County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a home on the 0N600 block of Keegan Drive about 6:45 p.m. for a domestic dispute.

Police said Andrew Deliman, 41, got into an argument with his sister after a wrestling match with her 15-year-old son. As the fight escalated, Deliman pushed his sister, police said, and other family members exited the home.

While alone in the home, Deliman took a gun from a gun safe and fired a shot, police saidy. He initially refused to leave the house when police arrived but eventually exited without incident, police said.

Deliman was charged with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm, one count of domestic battery, one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of domestic battery of an insulting or provoking nature.

He was taken to Delnor Hospital for an evaluation and later moved to the Kane County jail.
